Impelz ’23 was an electrifying Sports Day extravaganza that was meticulously organized by the AHEAD Student Association of the Department of Human Resource Management at the prestigious University of Kelaniya. The event was inspired by the mythical Greek gods, which embodied the spirit of the event as a fierce battle of the gods. The event comprised five houses, each named after a different god, including Poseidon, Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, and Hades.

The event took place on the 20th of November 2023 at Cyber Ground Premises in University of Kelaniya. The exceptional guidance of Mr. Priyadarshana Peiris, Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, Ms. Madhavi Gunasekara, Senior Treasurer of the AHEAD Student Association, and our esteemed panel of lecturers and the Fourth year and Third year fellowship has been instrumental in the success of “Impelz’23 “. 

The primary objective of this event was to extend a warm welcome to the new batch of undergraduates into the Human Resource Management department, leaving them with an unforgettable experience. The event aimed to boost students’ self-confidence, self-esteem, social skills, abilities, and talent beyond their academic work. This was accomplished through a myriad of exhilarating games and activities that took place between the houses. Fourth year and Third year brotherhood assisted us for giving the final judgement of the games. 

Additionally, there was an enthralling cricket match between the undergraduates of all four years, symbolizing the essence of brotherhood and care for each other. The ultimate goal was to create an enchanting and fun-filled atmosphere that would up lift the spirit of the event and leave everyone with memories to cherish for a life time. The climax of the event was the prize-giving ceremony, where winners were bestowed with laurel wreaths and symbolic medals. Event concluded with a music night for entertainment of the day.

The sports meet, steeped in the essence of the Olympic gods, provided a refreshing break from the routine. Through humor-infused games and a lively prize-giving ceremony, the university community celebrated both athleticism and camaraderie. The echoes of laughter and the spirit of friendly competition lingered, making this sports meet a memorable and unique experience.
